Your bigger shells will do more damage, don't aim at the waterline of a German BB, aim at the deck line or just a smidgen below to get plunging fire on him. The only real flaw to the North Carolina is it's idiotically bad TDS (it should be likely +10% higher all things fair).įrom having played the NC, You fight a Bismarck in 14-16km range you have the advantage as long as you are angled so he doesn't get a peek at your broadside, I never like to fight in too close. The trade off is the Bismarck being immune to Citadel-hell allows for less experienced BB players to not get slapped for over 40k salvoes because they thought to go broadsides to the opposing team. In a straight up fight the NC is actually the better ship because it can easily score penetrating hits on the Bismarck (not to mention the Bismarcks thin turrets), while the Bismarck has to get on the sides of the NC to get Citadel strikes/Penetrating hits. If we are talking who's better? a North Carolina has a higher Skill Ceiling and the Bismarck has a lower Skill floor. Somewhat unwieldy, though it has Hydro to assist with Torpedoes. The downsides? Secondary fire bow-on is non-existing, only 1/2 of the Main Battery can fire forwards. The Bismarck has better side-orientated Secondaries while also being nay-on impossible to Citadel. It also has Great AA even with BFT/AFT/AA module, while also being the lowest detection BB in game (until the British appear anyway).
It also has a 2-1 Set up allowing for 2/3s of it's Main Battery to fire bow on. The North Carolina has better Cannons that are more accurate, while also doing more damage and penetrate more armor.
